The first Hungary-based European Script Development Training!

With the support of the MEDIA Plus Programme of the European Community

Project based script development training including two intensive 5-day workshops in Budapest, Hungary and an On-line follow-up session.

3 Workshop Sessions for developing feature film screenplays

The Katapult - European Script Centre's training activity consists of three intensive workshop sessions over a period of 8 months.

Two of them, the 1st and the 2nd ones are residential and take place in Budapest, Hungary. The 3rd session is On-line.

Our IT resources provide space for a continuous follow-up for the projects.

The format of this training activity, the organisation of two intensive 5-day workshops, provides good opportunities for intensive work within small groups. The 30 participants are comprised of teams of writers / directors and/or producers, arriving with 15 projects to develop. In the 3 groups, each led by a principal tutor, participants work on a maximum of 5 film ideas. Such a set-up ensures that everybody's screenplay will be dealt with in detail.

Tutors:

Yvette Biro, essayist, screenwriter, writer. Teaches at Graduate Film Department of New York University.

Hana Cielova, screenwriter, script editor, critic.

Janos Szasz, film and theatre director, member of the European Film Academy. Teaches at the Academy of Theater and Film Arts, Budapest.

K-Esc is open to all screenwriters who send in their application.

Projects sent in from the countries participating in the MEDIA Programme of the European Community, especially from the New EU Member States are given priority.

Apply with feature film treatments of no more than 15 pages.
